"Chau Down!" is a recurring phrase spoken by Knives Chau, usually when she goes into battle.

Knives first used the phrase in Volume 2. When Ramona Flowers was delivering a package to the Toronto Reference Library, Knives jumped down from the elevators. She attempted to attack Ramona, but she defended herself with a piece of corporate art. They clashed again. When Knives got a good look at Ramona, she recognized her from an earlier sighting, confirming that Scott had indeed cheated on her. With dramatic flourish, she announced herself as Knives Chau and that she was a "Scottaholic", jumping up onto one of the levels and throwing down two knives, saying her catchphrase.
Movie[]
Just as Gideon prepares to kill Scott, Knives leaps down, brandishing her knives. Gideon deflects her, sending her tumbling onto the staircase of the Chaos Theatre's pyramid. Knives states that "you'll pay for what you did to him [Scott]!". Gideon thinks she is talking to him, and insults her calling her a "Kung Pao Chicken", telling him that Scott made his choice and how it had ruined his life. She then tells him that she is talking to Ramona, pointing a blade at her. Ramona is confused, so Knives tells her that she broke the heart of Scott, who had also broken her heart, too. Brandishing her knives, she tells Ramona to "get ready to Chau down!", before beginning to fight her.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off[]
The line is spoken in the final episode, The World Vs Scott Pilgrim. Ramona attempted to strike Even Older Scott with her Large Hammer, but he blocked the blow and destroyed the hammer, sending her to the ground. Knives, in concern, went to help her up and asked her if she had anything else inside her Subspace Suitcase besides the hammer. Ramona gives her two knives sporting pixelated glowing blue blades, a step up from the twin steel blades she usually wields. She flew towards Even Older Scott and hit his jaw with her foot, before jumping off and throwing a knife into his arm and landing back on the ground. She leveled her remaining blade at him, telling him that it was "time to Chau Down!". She began wildly slicing at him until he punched her hard enough to send the highlights flying out of her hair.

- The phrase is a pun on Knives' last name, Chau, and the phrase "chow down", in the Brazilian Portugese version, translates to "Dá um tchau pra Chau" (lit. "Say goodbye to Chau"), with "tchau" being a Brazilian term for "goodbye",
