BenDavid aspired to be a writer and draw comics when he was younger however he realised that it wasn't something that he felt he was good at, so he turned to screenwriting and producer work.
Before meeting Bryan Lee O'Malley in the early 2010s, he stated that he was already a huge fan of Scott Pilgrim.
