History[]
Background[]
After hearing Scott's voice in his Subspace highway, Ramona woke up the next morning and came to the conclusion that Scott was actually still alive. After dying her hair, Ramona went to the Rockit, where she paid a guard 10 dollars to see the security footage from that night. Close examination of the footage revealed that just before Matthew Patel could punch Scott, someone opened a vegan portal and pulled Scott into it, leaving $2.10 to fake his death. Ramona went to the Second Cup to explain it all to Julie Powers, who was upset that Scott was not actually dead. Ramona took it upon herself to try and find Scott. Julie told her it wasn't her responsibility, saying that they had only gone out once. When she asked how good their date could have ben, Ramona told her it was a great date.
Ramona asked Julie for a list of the major players in Scott's life, people who probably could have kidnapped him. Julie ruled out her own ex, Stephen Stills, citing he has too much anxiety for even simple decisions. She then mentioned Young Neil, whose idiocy, she claimed would make even Scott look like a genius, which is literally impossible. She then suggested that it could have been Envy Adams, mentioning her bad breakup with Scott, though Ramona seeing her at Scott's funeral (and commenting on her hotness) makes her question whether or not Scott really dated her. Julie then had the idea that she questions, the only ex to have known Scott the longest.
Conversation with Kim Pine[]
Ramona goes to No-Account Video, to question this ex, Kim Pine. She takes Ramona to the store's "Wall of Shame", which shows that he owes them $3,500 dollars in late fees; Kim suggests he faked his own death to get out of having to pay back his late fees. Ramona tells Kim that she is half-right, in that Scott is not actually dead. Kim remarks that "the house always wins", something Young Neil told her at Scott's funeral.
Ramona tells Kim about the existence of Subspace and how she uses it to deliver packages for Netflix. Kim tells it's because of her job that video stores like No-Account Video will soon be out of business. Ramona asks her for details on her history with Scott: once in high school, they were doing a geography project together, and Scott struggled to draw a map. He told her that maps were hard, compared to drawing sheep. Scott proceeded to draw a sheep; she told it looked terrible, but he said otherwise. Ramona questions that this was their most romantic memory together, so Kim told her that their most romantic one was when Scott had to save her after she was kidnapped by Simon Lee and his entire army of teenaged jerks. Ramona comments that this one was romantic, but Kim tells her their relationship ended when he moved away with his family to Toronto. Ramona takes this as a good sign, commenting that he must be a loveable idiot. hearing this, Kim realizes that Ramona likes Scott, who tells her that "there were sparks"; Kim tells Ramona she is in for some trouble. When Ramona asks why this always happens to her, Kim suggests that she should question her evil exes, as they would have the most reason for kidnapping Scott and faking his death.
Roxie Richter arrives just then. When Kim asks if they know each other, Ramona responds that they were college roommates "and more". When Kim asks, Roxie dramatically answers that she is "Roxie Richter! Ramona's fourth evil Ex!". Kim asks what happened to "two and three", so Roxie tells her that "Four ain't nothin' but a number, baby!" and that the League has been in ruin ever since Matthew Patel defeated Gideon Graves. Roxie tells Ramona she has come to win her heart back, doing this for them, because she has something none of the other exes will ever have emotional intelligence. None of the boys know how to express their true feelings. Ramona tells her that she is just like them when it comes to feelings. Roxie calls this an unfair accusation and that she is just impossible to talk to. Ramona gets defensive, asking her to talk about her feelings; Roxie, however, decides to fight about them instead, and levels her unsheathed sword.
Battle[]
Roxie rushes at Ramona and swings her sword at her. Ramona narrowly dodges the blow, landing on the floor and knocking over some DVDs. Roxie leaps at her, sword high, but Ramona dodges her and whacks her with her Large Hammer, swinging her across the store. Roxie, angrily, jumps onto Ramona, causing her to stagger around blindly. Roxie eventually pins her down and attempts to lunge at her, but Ramona kicks her into a shelf. The shelf falls on them, seemingly crushing them.
Ramona wakes up in a black-and-white movie. Roxie charges at her from above, knocking her down. Roxie charges towards her again, and their weapons lock, transporting them to an old Japanese movie, where they continue fighting. Hollie tells Kim that Roxie and Ramona are ruining her movie, so she decides to take her fifteen. Roxie and Ramona continue fighting in an old Japanese room. Roxie attempts to hit her with her sword but she blocks it with her hammer. Roxie kicks her down a flight of stairs, she attempts to jump at her, but Kim pauses the movie and rewinds it. Roxie calls this move "cheap". Ramona whacks Roxie through the room's wall, sending her through different movies until she ends up back at the video store. She rushes over to Kim, grabs the remote and destroys it with her sword.
Ramona pulls her into an Old Western, and they end up onboard a train. She refuses to fight Roxie, who angrily asks if she will run away from her again, before assuming a defensive posture. Hearing this, Ramona remembers their college years: moving in with her, Halloween, and giving Roxie a blanket when it was winter. Roxie charges towards Ramona: she hits her with her sword, before they start beating each other with their own human fists. They soon end up onboard a crashing plane. Ramona apologizes to Roxie for leaving her the way she did, confessing she was scared of facing her. Roxie yells that her leaving without a goodbye made her feel worthless and all she wanted from Ramona was to take notice of her. Ramona tearfully apologizes again, which Roxie accepts. She decides not to let her win the fight, but just before she can attack, the plane is shot down and the two are sucked out of the cargo hold. They grab hands as they fall, soon arriving back at the video store.
Aftermath[]
Roxie, Kim and Ramona finish watching a movie. Roxie notes that it has been a long time since she hung out with just girls, whilst Kim comments that the snacks she is eating are not free. Roxie dismisses this, citing that fighting always makes her hungry. Ramona comments Roxie's skills during their fight. Roxie doubts she is telling the truth, but Ramona confirms she is. Roxie offers to kiss Ramona, but she politely declines, citing her unfinished business with Scott. Roxie tells her that Scott Pilgrim is dead, but Ramona tells her she is wrong, and the truth is a lot more complicated than that and that she has to find him. But, she still offers to be her friend (without benefits), which Roxie accepts. Roxie asks Kim what she thinks of it. Kim is unsure, but kisses her anyways; there are no sparks, sadly, but Kim stills considers it to be worth a shot. Roxie asks when Kim's hot co-worker, Hollie, is coming back. With this, Ramona tells Roxie it's time that she leaves. Roxie leaves, humming the Hamster Dance tune as she does.
Ramona crosses Roxie off her list, as she didn't know Scott was alive. Kim tells her how everybody needs closure and that she is now officially one step closer to finding Scott and she has successfully made peace with Roxie. Whilst cleaning up the store, Ramona picks up a cardboard cutout of Lucas Lee, which makes her wonder if she has to do this with all seven Exes. When Kim sees that Lucas is one of her Exes, she questions whether or not he is actually evil enough to have kidnapped Scott and faked his death. She replies that there is only one way to find out. Outside the store, across the street, Robot-01 takes a picture of the scene.
