The duel with Nega Scott was a battle between Scott Pilgrim and Nega Scott.
History[]
Prelude[]
To help him get his life back together, Wallace Wells sent Scott to Kim's place with her parents in the wilderness. After he had breakfast, Scott and Kim explored the wilderness together. Scott tells her how great it feels to not have their lives controlled by grown-ups. Kim reminds him that they are grown-ups. Hearing this, he tells her he doesn't feel ready to be a grown-up. She tells him she doesn't think so either, but she tells him he will get better at it if he practices.
Without warning, he suddenly kisses Kim. Initially, returning the kiss, she breaks it off, knowing that Ramona Flowers is his destiny. Scott asks her if she had been the one who stuck by his side no matter what, explaining how Ramona's baggage complicated everything, whereas she, Kim, wasn't complicated. She tells him that their high school years weren't what he remembered. She reminds him that the epic battle with Simon Lee was actually a misunderstood beat down he handed out after Simon hugged Kim, and also reminded him that Lisa Miller was the one who delivered the heartbreaking news that Scott was moving to Toronto.
Scott's head starts glowing. Kim tries to alert him, but he tells her he is fine and suggests that they leave.
Battle[]
Scott spots Nega Scott in the bushes. The two charge towards each other, but Nega Scott brutally elbows him. Kim tells Scott to stop living in his depression. Scott tells her to leave him alone, telling him that he needs to destroy Nega Scott, if he wants to forget Ramona and move on. As he says this, he and Nega Scott charge at each other again, but Nega Scott punches him high into the sky. Kim reasons with him, telling that forgetting his mistakes will only ensure that he keeps making them again, thus his relationship with Ramona will fall apart, as did his others. Scott tells her that forgetting these mistakes feels better as opposed to living with them. Kim, frustrated, screams that every bad deed he's done will only keep chasing him unless he accepts them.
Scott falls down and intercepts Nega Scott, sending them tumbling through some leaves, and down a hill. Kim follows close behind, screaming that he needs hold onto his mistakes, fearing what will happen if he doesn't. Nega Scott pins him down and proceeds to brutally beat him. As he is beaten, Scott' memories flood with memories of Ramona. He remembers their good times, such as their first meeting, asking her out for a first date, and riding the streetcar back from the Rockit, and their bad times such as their near break-up and Ramona's disappearance. Seeing this, Nega Scott stops attacking, and they fuse, resulting in Scott regaining his memories.
Aftermath[]
Seeing that he really has been a bad person, Scott tells Kim that he doesn't feel worthy of Ramona's love. Kim tells him that even if he doesn't, her love is worth fighting for. She kisses him good luck, before her returns to Toronto to confront Gideon Graves.
