Emotional Business was a small running gag in Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.
History[]
The gag first appears in the episode WHODIDIT. When the group finds some disturbing information on Neil Nordegraf's computer, they decide to tell Ramona. Knives isn't feeling up to it though, but Stephen tells that she was cool when she saw her on the movie set. Knives reminds him that they were on a business venture, and that this business now is emotional. She then realizes it works great in song, and repeat the line "emotional business", but in a sing-songy voice. Stephen joins in, singing "Can I get a witness?" Kim tells them to stop singing and focus.
The line appears again in 2 Scott 2 Pilgrim. After realizing that she and Scott can't kiss, owing to the Anti-Kiss Field, Ramona deduces that there is still unfinished business. Stephen against burst into song, but Kim stops him again.
