Future Ramona talks with her younger self. The World Vs Scott Pilgrim"

Future Ramona Flowers, (b. January 1st, 1980), also known as Old Ramona and Even Older Ramona, is one of the possible futures of Ramona Flowers featured in Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.

History[]

Past[]

Future Ramona's story follows in the same way that the mainstream Ramona's did, up until Gideon's defeat. After defeating Graves, Scott and Ramona got married and they had a lovely honeymoon in Florida.

The two enjoyed a happy marriage for thirteen years, until one day, they had a fight. The fallout of this fight was devastating: Ramona decided to take some space away from Scott, but Scott interpreted this as a full-on divorce.

One day, Scott formulated a plan to go back and ensure that they never meet. Wallace informed Ramona about this.

Ramona, who was still in love with Scott, created a back up plan. Old Young Neil writes a memoir in the future about Scott and Ramona's history. Using the memoir, she writes a screenplay, which she sent into the past.

Ramona's plan was that, after being convinced by Older Scott to break up with Ramona, Scott would one day be at the local cineplex, where he will see a preview for a movie about himself, adapted from Ramona's screenplay, convincing him to try again with her.

Present[]

When Scott gets brought to the future by his future self, Scott asks Wallace if he could meet Future Ramona, who reveals to him that she wrote the screenplay that was written on Young Neil's computer as a back up plan to let Scott know about the life they had together before divorcing.

Future Ramona writing the screenplay led to Young Neil attempting to adapt it. However, her plan fails due to a constantly rising budget, a feud between Wallace Wells and Envy Adams and finally, Matthew Patel shutting down production after accusing it of being a "character assassination" of him. She admits her failure, but tells him that she was eager to try because Scott is her true great love. Scott told her that by peering into Robot-01's memories, he learned that his Ramona was looking for him and never giving up, in spite of impossible odds.

Ramona was moved by this, and she sent him back to the past. There, she met her past self and they took some pictures together, before she returned to the future.

Future Ramona returns in the next episode, travelling through Scott's subspace, she appears much older, and gets angry at Even Older Scott for not even texting him in ten years due to his training in order to defeat his younger self once and for all. She tells him that they could have patched it up and she rejects Even Older Scott's suggestion to try again.

After fusing with her younger self to form Super Ramona, she sends Even Older Scott back into the room he was training in, to fix up his mess.

Appearance[]

Old Ramona Flowers[]

Future Ramona looks identical to her younger self with the exception of longer hair.

Even Older Ramona Flowers[]

Even Older Ramona appears much older than her 38 year old self, having aged ten years. Her hair is slightly longer and now has grey hair on top of her dyed hair.

Personality[]

Future Ramona is mature, witty and smart, having developed time travel using parts of a DeLorean.

Trivia[]

  • In Spanish, the name "Ramona" means "wise protector". This is especially fitting, given the role she plays in keeping Scott and her younger self together.
  • Future Ramona's actions in writing the Scott Pilgrim film would later be revealed as the basis of the plot, building towards the production of Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Musical.
  • In the early development drawings for Takes Off, Future Ramona had originally be drawn to have a ponytail.
  • At 48 years old, she is oldest character with a confirmed age. The oldest character without such would most likely be Mr. Ingram.
