Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

The Gig at Lee's Palace was a concert gig performed by Sex Bob-omb.

History[]

Three days prior to the gig, Envy Adams called Scott. She told Scott how the Clash at Demonhead were shows at Lee's Palace over the weekend. Unfortunately, a band signed on for Sunday pulled out after the drummer went into a coma and the guitarist and bass player had a break-up, so Envy asked Scott if Sex Bob-omb could play in the unnamed band's place. Scott broke the bad news to the band, but Stephen was excited, citing that they would finally get recognition, noting how Lee's Palace served as a venue for some of his favorite bands. Stephen's excitement quickly turned to worry over their bad quality, which Kim agreed on. Stephen asked Scott to contact Envy and call it off.

Scott meets with Stephen and Kim on Sunday afternoon to discuss the show. Scott remains optimistic, telling them all that this will be their "moment", although Kim states that their "moment" will live forever in horrible infamy. The decision to play is settled, Kim noting that she might as well take part, noting how she doesn't have a reputation. Stephen worries, but Scott comforts him, telling him that the songs he's written for the band don't suck and are than the ones from their Kid Chameleon days. When they arrive at Lee's Palace, Stephen pukes in the bathroom. As Scott enters the main area, he sees that Julie, Wallace, Stacey, Comeau, Sandra and Monique, Hollie, and Joseph are also attending the event. He and Ramona order two gin and tonics, doubles. Scott leaves to check on Stephen. Scott goes outside, where he talks to Envy. Envy asks if they could talk like normal people. Scott answers, asking her "did we ever talk like normal people?" Scott also finds Knives. He talks to her and apologizes for how he and Envy treated her. He leaves to prepare for the show. Stephen and Kim ditch Ramona to prepare as well.

In the middle of a fight with Envy Adams, the band goes onstage. Kim introduces the audience to them, declaring that "We are Sex Bob-omb!!! We are here to make you think about death and get sad and stuff!!!" Just before they can start playing, Scott leaves the stage to incapacitate Envy before she can kill Knives and Ramona. Envy ordered Todd to kill them all, only to learn soon after that Todd is cheating on her with Lynette. After Lynette teleports from the club and after Todd attacks Envy, Scott draws him into a bass battle. With assistance from The Boys!! and Crash!!, Scott wins the battle, gaining cash and an Extra Life. With the Clash at Demonhead broken up, and after checking on Ramona, Kim, and Knives, Sex Bob-omb continues their gig. The audience members give their thoughts to a documentary crew. On the other hand, Gideon Graves, who was also in attendance, has "no comment".

Scott mentions the gig to Lisa Miller in Volume 4, noting how some of the audience even clapped.
