Lights. Camera. Sparks?! is the fifth episode of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. It was released on 17 November 2023 on Netflix along with the rest of the series.
Synopsis[]
A documentary about the Toronto production reveals drama - and steamy romance - behind the scenes. Ramona takes on a demanding but daring gig.
Plot[]

"Is it true that neither of you have acted before?"
Envy and Todd are doing an interview. The interviewer asks to confirm whether of not they have actually acted before. Envy says it is true, but when you're famous, it's basically the same thing. Todd proclaims them to be rock stars; they do what they want, and what they want to do now is act.

"Really? He said that?"
Young Neil is being interviewed. He tells the interviewe, how people are asking him if the movie how it is supposed to be. Edgar Wrong tells them they're just trying to honor the amazing script Young Neil wrote, finding it to be the perfect tribute to the city of Toronto. Ramona Flowers, playing Envy's stunt double is up next. The interviewer is confused; she is the character's stunt double and they have the same name. She calls herself a "physical person", but she never thought of doing stunt-work, and to her shock, she is actually pretty good at it. The interviewer asks if it could be the start of a new career for her. Ramona denies this, saying she needs to get close to figure out if he kidnapped Scott Pilgrim.

"Todd, do you know what "blocking" is?"
We cut to crew filming a scene. Unfortunately, Ramona is not needed on-set today, so Envy rudely tells her to leave. Young Neil tells the interviewer that the sets dark lighting is supposed to reflect the darkness of Scott's soul, only to be told he is just wearing sunglasses. Wallace is interviewed next. The interviewer asks if he could speak on the fact that he has gone from side-line heckling to co-lead in the movie. He replies, saying that he would rather be paid to be himself, instead of being "Wallace Wells" for free. The first take for Scene 43 begins. Envy, Todd and Wallace are walking together. Edgar suggests Todd gently put his on Envy's back. As soon as he does this, it devolves into a kiss. After another bad take, Young Neil explains that a movie set is like chemistry: some people have too much chemistry.

"Now, kiss! KISS LIKE YOUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT!!!"
After several disastrous takes, all of which ended with Todd and Envy making out, Wallace convinces Edgar to change the scene. On the next take, Todd and Wallace are told to gaze at each other, before they are told to kiss. Todd and Wallace's lips meet, and sparks ignite. Envy is furious. Stephen Stills and Knives Chau write a song to be sung in the movie. They visit the set, where they meet Ramona and hand the CD copy over to her. They ask her to give it to Envy. Throughout the shoot, Todd falls in love with Wallace, constantly "running lines" in Todd's trailer. Envy states that Todd is her best friend with benefits, and that though they have dated other people, they always come back to each other. Ramona informs the interviewer about her relationship with Todd, which involved Todd expressing his love by punching a hole in the moon for her.

"Envy! I can't be with you anymore! I'M IN LOVE WITH WALLACE WELLS!!!"

"You made the exact same career choice!"
During a lunch-break Ramona meets up with Todd. She attempts to talk to him about Scott, but Wallace walks by. The two meet and enter vegan portal. At the end of Day 2 of shooting, production has ballooned to 17 million dollars over-budget. On Day 3, Ramona tells the interviewer she has big fight scene coming up, but she is hoping to get Todd away from Wallace for a few minutes. Todd gives his inside thoughts on what working with Wallace has been like. He has taught him so much about life, that he breaks up with Envy, and proclaims his love for Wallace, even getting a tattoo. Envy, in anger, storms off. Wallace tries to debunk the rumors. Envy storms into the room, with Todd following behind. Wallace correctly predicts that Todd is in love with him. Wallace, however, tells him it was just an on-set fling. As soon the production wraps, their relationship is over. Todd, heartbroken escapes through a portal. Envy attacks Wallace in rage. However, since this is a movie, Wallace wants to keep his dignity, so he sends his stunt doubles (including the actor originally cast as Wallace) to fight in his stead. Envy, shocked that he gets four doubles, sends her stunt double, Ramona Flowers to fight in her stead. However, the fight ends when Wallace's doubles, sick of his verbal abuse, leave.

"It's a vegan portal, alright. But it's better than anything Todd's ever made."
Envy and Ramona find the depressed Todd in his trailer. He tells Envy that what they had was fun, but being with Wallace allowed him to explore a new type of fun. Ramona decides it's time to talk about Scott, and plays the tape she took from The Rockit. Envy confirms it is indeed a vegan portal, but more powerful than anything Todd could ever create.

"Julie Powers and I need to talk!"
Just before Ramona could leave the studio, Matthew Patel arrives. After firing everyone working on the project, he is approached by Knives and Stephen. They tell him about a proposition, and they receive his business card. Ramona confronts Patel, revealing the truth about what actually happened at the Rockit. Patel tells Ramona what happened after he "won" the fight, and that he has control of G-Man Media, the League of Evil Exes and everything else, whilst Gideon is living with Julie Powers. Ramona crosses out Todd and Envy's names on the list, and adds Gideon and Julie on to it. She skates off to find Powers, whilst Robot-01 watches.
