Mystical Powers was the term given to the powers and advanced fighting abilities used by Matthew Patel.
History[]
Capabilities:[]
With this power, Matthew Patel had access to a wide range of abilities, including:
- Demon Hipster Chicks - Matthew could summon up to four Demon Hipster Chicks to assist him in combat.
- Fireballs - Matthew and his Demon Hipster Chicks could shoot fireballs.
- Levitation - Matthew and his Demon Hipster Chicks could levitate and fly.
- Astral powers - Matthew could summon several astral arms (a technique known as the Six-Armed God Ganesha) as well as astral weapons, such as an astral trident.
Graphic novels & Movie[]
In both the original comics and the movie, Matthew only uses these powers during the Battle at Club Rockit in an attempt to kill Scott Pilgrim. Whilst Matthew used these powers to the best of his ability, he was ultimately defeated by Pilgrim and his friends.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off[]
In Scott Pilgrim Takes Off Matthew, after seemingly defeating Scott, challenges Gideon Graves to a duel, in a bid to gain control over the League of Evil Exes. The fight was tough on both fighters, but through use of his astral powers, Matthew won the fight and seized of Gideon's empire, leaving him homeless.
Matthew used these powers again in combat against Future Scott Pilgrim. Whilst he and the League were able to hold their own, they were eventually defeated.
