In Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Robot-01 attempts to hide from some of the characters throughout the series, which later turns out to be Scott Pilgrim viewing events in the present day from the future.

"Ramona Rents a Video"[]
After spying on Ramona leaving No-Account Video following a confrontation with Roxie Richter, Robot-01 can been opposite the street. When observing, a woman throws a banana peel on him, which as a result, leaves him agitated. The woman later picks the banana peel up and apologies to Robot-01 for mistaking him for a trash can.
"Lights. Camera. Sparks?!"[]
Robot-01 spies on Young Neil as he is driving his golf buggy, however, Robot-01 is hit by him which leads to Young Neil questioning what happened. Robot-01 then gets up and angrily runs away in a silly manner.
"WHODIDIT"[]
When Julie returns to her house, which is left wrecked by Lucas Lee and Gideon Graves, Julie asks "what's with the robot!?" to which Lucas questions "What robot?". It is then revealed to be Robot-01 who attempts to hide by putting a lamp shade over his head. After being caught out, Robot-01 leaves in anger and breaks through the window.
"2 Scott 2 Pilgrim"[]
It is revealed that Scott was the one. When he plugs in the virtual reality controller to Robot-01's head, Scott goes to the moment he left, whilst looking at the stage, the camera stops from going forward and it reveals that Robot-01 is visible to everyone on the upper floors of the Rockit.
