Sex Bob-omb is Scott's unpopular band, comprising Stephen Stills (vocals and guitar), Scott Pilgrim (bass), and Kim Pine (drums). The name refers to Bob-omb, a character from the Super Mario series and the Tom Jones song "Sex Bomb." They are an average band, neither wildly popular nor terrible, though the banality of later recording their album results in the band hardly ever playing gigs or practicing and getting rusty.
Music
Although some "fake" lyrics and chord progressions have been published in the comics, Beck is adapting these into real songs for the movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Song's in their repitoire include:
-Launchpad McQuack (though the real title is unknown)
-Resent You
-Erasmus
-Herself The Elf
History
Sonic & Knuckles
Sonic & Knuckles was the band Kim Pine and Scott Pilgrim played with during high school.
Kid Chameleon
Kid Chameleon was a band founded by Stephen Stills, Envy Adams, and Scott Pilgrim. Other members joined later on. A record deal and relationship issues between Scott and Envy led to Stephen and Scott leaving the band. Envy then founded The Clash at Demonhead.
The End and Aftermath
The group inevitably split after Kim went home and Scott fell into a deep depressed slump with Ramona gone. Stephen Stills went and joined another band with Joseph and Cole, the drummer brought on during Kid Chameleon (who Scott mistook for Gideon at some unseen point and stabbed in the face with a fork). Stephen now plays bass for this group (though needs a good deal of practice).
After the fallout at Chaos Theatre, Scott and Kim reformed as the duo Shatter Band. With Scott on guitar and vocals, and Kim back on drums, the two are seen to perform once only for Young Neil and Knives, where they brutalize The Monkees' "I'm A Believer"
In .vs The World
In the movie, all of Sex Bob-omb's music is being performed by the artist Beck
