Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

The skirmish at Lee's Palace was a fight instigated by Scott Pilgrim to defeat Todd Ingram after the Clash At Demonhead's performance

History[]

Graphic Novels[]

Following The Clash at Demonhead's performance, Sex Bob-omb, Knives, Ramona, Young Neil, and Julie stayed after everyone had left. Before he could puke, Scott saw a save point and attempted to save, only to be caught by the bartender. Envy Adams appeared with Todd Ingram and Lynette Guycott and invited everyone backstage.

Julie asked Envy how the band's tour was, to which she said it had been unusual. Knives attempts to talk to her idol, telling her that she read her blog and telling her how she's her role model. Julie attempts to blow Envy's mind. Julie asked if they were doing anything fun in the city, which Todd mocked. Envy suggested they may go shopping tomorrow. Knives suddenly provokes Envy by telling that she's "kissed the lips that kissed you!" Envy nods at Lynette, who uses her biological arm to punch Knives hard enough to send her red highlights flying out of her hair, shocking everyone (in particular, Young Neil and Scott Pilgrim). Knives tries to apologize to Envy, promising to be on her best behaviour, but she dismisses her, telling Knives and Neil to go home.

Envy praises Scott and Ramona, calling them a cute couple and how Ramona suits Scott. Stephen asks Envy what her ulterior motive is, but Julie tells him that Envy doesn't need one. Envy compliments Ramona's outfit, asking if she could afford it. Julie buts in, asking if Envy got the jeans she was wearing in New York, but Envy shuts her down. Julie tells Envy that Ramona hails from New York, but Ramona corrects her telling her that she just lived there for a while. Envy makes fun, asking if the parts of the city she saw was mostly the seamy underbelly of the city, such as strip clubs and the backs of parked cars.

Unable to contain his rage, Scott tries to attack Todd. Todd reacts, using his vegan powers to strangle Scott before ejecting him from the building by throwing him through a wall. Envy announces that Todd is a Vegan, having graduated top of his class at the academy. Todd dismisses it as being "not a big deal", Stephen telling him that anyone could be a vegan if they worked at it. Todd tells him that, at best, you'd be an ovo-lacto vegetarian. When Kim backs Stephen's question, asking why you can't just be a vegan, he tells her that it's just a fact of science, that regular people can't handle. Aside from that, the main thing really, he tells her, is that it just makes him better than most people. Kim makes fun at this, so Todd insults her, and he gives her the finger. Stephen asks how being a vegan gives one psychic powers. Todd tells him that people use ten percent of their brain, with the ninety percent being filled with curds and whey. As Ramona checks to see if Scott is feeling well, Envy tells him that Todd's powers are the reason he won't win and he'll have to give up on Ramona. Envy reveals she knows all about the League, noting how she and Todd have been together sine they were eleven. Ramona tells her that this mean that Todd cheated on Envy with her, but Envy dismisses her, telling her and Scott that they're finished and Todd will ensure it.

Scott attempts to kick Todd, but he uses his vegan powers to send him up into the night sky. When he lands back down, Ramona options that he should come up with a strategy. Scott gets back up, announcing that he dislikes Todd. Todd tells him to "tell it to the cleaning lady on Monday". Scott is confused, so Todd clarifies his threat by telling him that he will be disintegrated into dust sometime over the weekend. Since the cleaning lady has weekends off, the dust he will be turned into will be cleaned up on Monday. Stephen and Envy, tired of the fight, note the time as 3:30 AM, and that they've "been here for a quarter of the book". Todd notes his unfinished business with Scott (Scott insults his bad grammar), but Envy calls it a night, suggesting they sleep in, have a late breakfast and meet up at Honest Ed's; Scott asks why, so she tells him it's a surprise.
