The Uncanny Comeau was a comic strip written by Steve Manale, that was contributed to the back of the original black-and-white edition of Scott Pilgrim Gets It Together.
Plot[]
Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers are walking hand in hand, when they see Comeau putting up a sign. He announces that he and his friend, Fancy, have opened up their own eatery/fight club, called "Dignity Eats Dignity: Eatery Fight Club". Scott asks why he was doing such a thing, and Comeau explained that it had all changed when he bout some Starmen. Scott asked if their invincibility actually worked, so he explained that the ones he bought were cheap Chinatown knock-offs, but he could download whatever song he wanted onto them.
Comeau immediately challenges Scott, using the stars to play "This Charming Man" by the Smiths while they fight. Ramona calls this move an unfair advantage since Scott can't fight to a Smiths song. However, Scott gains the advantage when he distracts Comeau by asking what was up with the tattoo he had on his stomach. Scott proceeded to mercilessly beat Comeau, but just then, the song ended, and Comeau kicked Scott in the balls. Comeau closed off the comic by telling the reader to "Kick out the jams, mother@#!$%@!".
Trivia[]
- Comeau's Starmen are references to the Mario video games.
- The title of the comic strip is a reference to The Uncanny X-Men.
