Vincent is a character from Bryan Lee O'Malley's short comic, Monica Beetle.
History[]
One night, whilst smoking a cigarette, Vincent hangs out with his friend by a brick wall. Vincent tells him how he is in love with a girl from work.
One day whilst at work, Vincent dealt with a customer. Before he could the man the prints he came for, a UFO crashed into the building and sliced the man in half. An alien climbed out of the ship and tried to shoot Vincent, but Monica deflected the blast with a photo frame, before defeating the alien and taking his gun. She grabbed Vincent by the arm, and when he asked, she told him that they needed to save the world.
They climbed into the UFO. Vincent asked if she did this stuff often, and she told him that she was the only one who knew of the secret the aliens harbored. She told him to press the blue button, only for him to realize that all the buttons were blue. Flying the ship out of the building (and cutting through a lamppost), Vincent tried to ask her out, but she told him she was busy. They flew the ship into the cargo bay of a passing plane, telling him that dating him would risk their "beautiful friendship", before climbing out, striking a pose, and changing outfits.
She asked him if he remembered from school, and he asked her which school she went to. Sad, she just told him "never mind". Back in the present, Vincent's friend asked if he thought she went to their school. Vincent doesn't seem to recall, saying she may have had horn-rimmed glasses and mousy hair. He also states she may have been in love with him, but was to shy to make a move. His friend suggested that he should the school yearbook.
Trivia[]
- Vincent bares resemblance to Scott Pilgrim, which raised the suggestion that he might be Scott's father, with Monica potentially being Scott's mother as the comic is set in the 1970s.
